Baratti is a village in the municipality of Piombino famous for its red sand beach, crystal clear waters and archaeological park that holds the remains of the ancient settlement of Populonia, the only Etruscan city built on the sea.
Located in the gulf of the same name and surrounded by a thick pine forest, Baratti beach is mainly a public beach but hosts two private bathrooms and is equipped with all facilities to spend the day. A meeting place for the many surfing and windsurfing enthusiasts, it is also home to a sailing school that offers weekly courses for people of all ages.
